\nmon r\u00eave, un club du livres d’artiste pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 sous forme de soir\u00e9e speed dating. quelle belle id\u00e9e! en fait, il s’agit d’un cours qui a d\u00e9bord\u00e9 vers des soir\u00e9es o\u00f9 l’on consulte des livres d’artistes, des zines, et o\u00f9 l’on rencontre aussi les artistes qui les font. \u00e7a a beau se passer dans une salle sans ambiance \u00e0 new york, j’aurais aim\u00e9 y \u00eatre.<\/p>\n

\u00abStructured in the form of an artists\u2019 book club, ART 411 Seminar in Contemporary Art, co-taught by Simone Osthoff, professor of art, and Henry Pisciotta, arts and architecture librarian, explores the book form as a medium, a metaphor, and also conceptually\u2014as a site which simultaneously holds and produces content through original visual and verbal narrative structures and materials\u2014and thus forges alternative forms of writing, of seeing, and of thinking. As part of the class, Osthoff and Pisciotta organized the event Speed Dating Artists’Books in the West Pattee library recently. During the event, students and guests browsed through more than two hundred artists\u2019 books from the Penn State Patee Library’s circulating collection, with participants checking out a number of them for later projects. This book party was followed up a week later by a visit to the artists\u2019 books in the Special Collections Library.\u00bb<\/p>\n
